Yes…Essential oils directly replace the fragrance oils.
You do NOT need to dilute them. They are diluted when you mix them with the other ingredients used to make soap, ie the oils and lye solution. In the case of Melt & Pour the soap base dilutes them enough.
What you do need to do is read up on each one you would like to use, learn about the pro’s and cons of each oil. Some are much stronger than others and you need to know just how much is okay to add into your products and which one you should avoid totally. Some can be an irritant and cause a rash when used in leave on products of if too much is used.
The key to success when using essential oils is to do your Research, study up on the oils until you get familiar with them.
One reason many soap makers only use fragrance oils is because of the time involved in learning about essential oils. Plus the fragrance oils are cheaper to use in soaps.
