Melting Pot Candles

I’m planning on making a centerpiece involving flower petals and floating candles in glass bowls. I was wondering if fake flower petals would be ok, or would real petals be better. I’m looking for information on both safety (since there will be fire) and appearance. Thank you.

Of course real flowers would be better but If you need to use the others they ll be fine… GL
